Saying Goodbye to the Nuss'

Well, it was a sad night on our street last night, as we had to bid farewell to some great friends and neighbors - the Nuss'.  Eric got a job transfer to Milwaukee, so the family packed up and headed out last night.  There was only about 30+ people in their driveway to say goodbye (gotta love this street) and lots of hugs & tears were shed by all.

The kids will really miss Blake (especially Sam) and Mia & I will miss Erica terribly.  Not to mention Nate will miss his sports-watching buddy, Eric, who was always up for a great time.  They were a fixture on our street for 4 years and we've watched each others kids grow up and really have gotten to be great friends.

A large group of us went out last weekend for a goodbye dinner & we've had many goodbye drinks in the driveway all week long!!  We know they will do great in Wisconsin, but it's hard to see them go!

Girls weekend in KC

Mia & I went to KC last weekend for a girls only trip!!  The occasion was cousin Kate's first dance recital!  She did a great job and we had so much fun watching all of the performances.  Even Uncle Steve hit the stage to perform a dance with the other dad's -- too cute!  My mom was in from Chicago, so it was great seeing her as well.

Nate & Sam enjoyed the weekend at home and even hit up the horse racing track!

Trampoline Madness

There's a new trampoline place in town, so the kids and I went with Moms Club to check it out.  This place was HUGE and the kids LOVED it!  Sam unfortunately though, had a mental breakdown for about 30 minutes because he was not tall enough to be allowed on the bigger trampolines.  Yes, it was like torture for my busy little boy - he & I both knew he could totally hold his own!

School's Out for Summer!

I cannot even believe that Mia is done with school for the summer!!  Not sure where this 2nd semester went!!
We enjoyed an end of year party at her preschool yesterday - complete with tattoos, sun visors, yard games & ice cream!

Merry Summer to the Kids

Well, we finally took the plunge & got the kids a play set for the backyard.  So far, they & all of the neighbor kids are loving it!

Mother's Day

I had an awesome Mother's Day weekend! We went out with the neighbors on Saturday night & spent Sunday at the zoo - rode the train, fed the birds, took a camel ride & the kids got their faces painted!  Of course, all the "extras" when daddy is with us!!  I feel super blessed to be the mom of these two great kids!!
Nate always does great with the flowers!!

Pretty much sums up how Mia thought of the birds - only 250 of them in a small room!  A little freaky!

Nate was the bird charmer!

Mia rode the camel all by herself & I rode with Sam (on the hump!!)
