Fun Family Weekend

We had a great visit with my family this past weekend in Des Moines!  Nate went to the game with my brother-in-law -- had sky-box seats and drank too much!  Our weekend was much tamer, but fun nontheless!!  Thanks for making the trek from Chicago, Cedar Rapids & the QC.  Thanks also to Aunt Sue for some great shots of the kids!

Random Fun

Dyer Visit

We had a great visit with the Dyer's last weekend!  They came to DM for the IronKids National Triathalon.  Drew won the competition for his age group in the QC, so came to compete in nationals against kids from all over the US.  He did AWESOME - placing 4th overall.  Go Drew!!!

Gatsby Gala

We attended the Gatsby Gala again this year, which is a charity event to support the beautiful Salisbury mansion in Des Moines.  With a roaring 20's theme, good food & drink - it is always a great time!

Birthday Mama

I had a great 33rd birthday last week, celebrated with so many great friends and the fam.  I had a super busy week - first Junior League meeting of the year, John Deere dinner club and Moms Club moms night out (which even included some dancing!)...clearly I took advantage of it being my birthday week :)  Thanks Nate!!  We took the kids to Jethro's on my actual b-day and had some great bbq.  The week of festivities ended with the Gatsby Gala and a visit from the Dyer's, which will you see in upcoming photos.

Life is great on this 33rd birthday - I feel so blessed!  xo

Sam's 1st Haircut

Nate took Sam to Cost Cutters last week for his first official haircut!  3 suckers later, Sam has short hair.  He looks SOOOOO old & cute!  

Urban Camp-out

Last weekend we had our first backyard campout!  We pitched the tent which hadn't been used in 7 years and fired up the fire-pit.  Of course this attracted lots of neighbor friends and it turned into a great party, complete with hot dogs and smores cooked over the open flame.  The only problem with this super fun party is that Mia couldn't hit the sack until everyone left the backyard, which didn't end up being until after 11pm.  It was a late night, but she and I had a great time sleeping in the tent on such a beautiful September night!!!
