Mother's Day

I had an awesome Mother's Day, spent with all of my favorite people!  Nate gave me some BEAUTIFUL flowers and planned a picnic lunch for all of us - complete with chicken salad from one of my favorite restaurants!  We spent the rest of the day constructing my new raised garden and planting flowers in the beds and pots in the front of the house.  My kind of day!!

I'm obsessed with this plant - a fuschia, which gets beautiful huge pink and white blooms on it! Love how whimsy it is!

Touch A Truck

Last weekend the Junior League of DM hosted its first a "touch a truck" event for area kids.  There were many large pieces of equipment for the kids to check out (fire truck, police car, tractor, bus, crane, etc) and they had a great time!  I volunteered for a few hours, then Nate & the kids came and met me to play.  It was a huge success and we're already looking forward to next year!

Texas Trip

We had a great trip to San Antonio to visit my sister and her family this past week.  I survived the plane ride with just myself and the 2 kiddos and it was worth it!  They were great travelers and while Sam was VERY busy, he really did well.  I had a woman at the airport tell me that I was her hero - shelping 2 toddlers, a double stroller & an arsenal of entertainment, snacks, etc.  She said, "you look like a pro and your kids are so well behaved!"  I needed the motivation, so was grateful for her comments!

Once in San Antone, we took full advantage of the awesome warm & sunny weather - going to the zoo, outlet malls, Drew's soccer practice and swimming at the neighborhood pool.  Of course when we're together, I imagine just how much fun we'd have living closer to one another.  Maybe someday!

 

May Day May Day

We enjoyed a beautiful May Day here in DM and it actually finally felt like spring!  We made and delivered May Day baskets to all of the neighbor kids and got MANY in return.  The kids had a great time ding-dong ditching their friends!!  

May Day is extra special around the Heinrich household as it's also Nate's birthday!  Grandma & Grandpa Heinrich came from the QC to come celebrate with us.  We had a great time - enjoying the nice weather & dining on Uncle Jerry's famous ribs!  

Plant a Free Tree

Lowe's had a free tree giveaway for Earth Day!  I got 2 small Colorado Blue Spruce starts, so I thought it would be fun to plant a tree for each of the kids and watch them grow.
